Yavapai College offers more than 99 certificate, degree, and transfer options to students in 73 different programs of study. In addition to traditional curriculum, the college offers many learning options to fit the lifestyles/circumstances of its students. Alternative learning options include: credit for prior learning, internships/service learning, non-credit courses, college for kids, high school partnerships (dual enrollment), internet courses, open entry/open exit courses, telecourses, senior programs (OLLI, Elderhostel/Edventures), and high school equivalency program (GED testing). Yavapai College also offers seven associate degree programs.
The Valley Academy for Career and Technology Education (VACTE) in the Verde Valley delivers career and technical education (CTE) to high school students in cooperation with their member districts by providing a pathway for students to earn industry certification and college credit, as well as experience career-based learning, hands-on instruction, and leadership development. Programs include agriculture, audio production, automotive, business, cabinetmaking, culinary arts, digital photography, drafting, film and TV, graphic design, law and public safety, sports medicine, stagecraft, and welding. VACTE has 7 CTE programs which provide career training in the fields of certified nursing assistant, construction, culinary arts, fire science, medical assistant, phlebotomy, and teacher training.
A strong partnership with Yavapai College has been developed to provide dual or concurrent enrollment courses, whereby, high school students are able to earn both high school and college credits for the courses in which they are enrolled. VACTE pays for the college tuition, textbooks, and uniforms for these programs. VACTE courses also support several industry recognized licenses and certifications.
