About

Verde Valley Regional Economic Organization

Working together as a region strengthens our individual communities. By collaborating and sharing resources, we improve and invigorate the economic vitality and prosperity of the entire Verde Valley. VRREO has been involved in important regional efforts to provide capital for small businesses, support local entrepreneurs, and to provide a regional voice for critical infrastructure improvements.

To this end, VVREO:

  • Granted over $1.5M in small business loans to local businesses in the region that do not have access to traditional funding sources.
  • Provided business support to small businesses in collaboration with the SBDC resulting in no defaults on loans given.
  • Is supporting efforts to provide high-speed internet for the entire Verde Valley.
  • Served as fiscal agent and strategic support for the founding of the Verde Valley Wine Consortium and the Verde Valley Agriculture Coalition.
  • Actively participated in the work that resulted in ADOT funding for the SR 260 expansion.
  • Provides direction for strategic regional economic planning to ensure our communities and residents can thrive.
Our Mission

VVREO provides sustainable economic vitality expertise, resources, marketing and outreach to promote prosperity for regional wellbeing.

Our Vision
VVREO is a regional collaborative resource building sustainable economic prosperity.
Our Future

In October 2025, VVREO hosted 100 local leaders and interested stakeholders to “Imagine the Verde Valley”. Groups discussed important areas for collaboration and action. A summary of the results of that meeting can be found here. If you are interested in being part of future discussions on any of these topics, please reach out to us.

The Verde Valley

Verde Valley Arizona

The Verde Valley spans approximately 714 square miles in the heart of Arizona, roughly 100 miles north of the Phoenix metro area. The Verde River flows through the valley from northwest to southeast, fed by Sycamore Canyon, Oak Creek, Beaver Creek, and West Clear Creek. This region is renowned for its diverse natural beauty, framed by the red rocks and Mogollon Rim to the north and east, while the Black Hills and Mingus Mountain define the western and southern landscapes.

Nearly 80% of the Verde Valley consists of National Forest land. The Coconino National Forest lies primarily to the north and east of the Verde River, while the Prescott National Forest is situated to the south and west. The region also includes 20 square miles of State Trust Land, mostly along the state highways connecting Cottonwood to Sedona and Cottonwood to Camp Verde. Only about 17% of the Verde Valley is privately owned.

The Verde Valley Trail Fund, the Bicycle Advisory Committee, and the Verde Front Partners, including the City of Cottonwood, the Town of Clarkdale, and the Town of Camp Verde, recently released a Bike and Trail Map of the Verde Valley Region, featuring all the trails to hike, bike, and more.
